About ComplyHQ
Why ComplyHQ exists
ComplyHQ was built in Singapore to solve a problem every small business owner here knows: the Personal Data Protection Act applies to you from day one, but hiring a compliance consultant costs more than most SMEs can justify — and the official guidance assumes you have time to read hundreds of pages.
ComplyHQ turns PDPA compliance into a guided workflow: a gap assessment that tells you where you stand, generated policies tailored to your business, a data inventory you can actually maintain, and a compliance dashboard that keeps everything in one place.
Who's behind it
ComplyHQ is built and operated by Mervin Tan, a Singapore-based software engineer and founder of Adaptels. Mervin has spent 15+ years building software for businesses, and built ComplyHQ after watching SME owners around him either ignore the PDPA entirely (risky) or overpay consultants for templated documents (wasteful).
ComplyHQ is a product of Adaptels Pte. Ltd. (UEN: 202105417C), a Singapore company. You can reach us any time at support@complyhq.app or via the contact page.
How we keep our guidance accurate
- Every guide on our blog is checked against primary sources: the Personal Data Protection Act 2012, PDPC advisory guidelines, and published PDPC enforcement decisions. Sources are listed at the end of each article.
- Articles are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed before publication — see our editorial policy for exactly how that works.
- When PDPC guidance changes (such as the NRIC rule changes taking effect in 2026), we update affected articles and show a "last updated" date.
What ComplyHQ is not
ComplyHQ provides compliance tooling and plain-English guidance — not legal advice. For matters involving litigation, regulatory investigations, or unusual data processing arrangements, consult a qualified Singapore lawyer. We say this on every relevant page because it's true.
